It is my role as a designer to guide you through the design process. I can work with you in a variety of ways – either collaboratively or independently, depending upon the level of involvement you want with your project.
The options are outlined below to give you an idea, but I will always chat these through with you, to help decide the best approach to take.
Each option starts by asking you to complete a short online questionnaire which will give me an overview of the project and help me to establish your tastes, preferences, requirements and of course, budget. At this stage it is also useful for you to send me photos and I will then call to discuss requirements and/or arrange an initial visit.
“Ask the Professional” Package
If you have started to re-design your room on your own, but have come unstuck somewhere along the lines, this may the option for you.
It is so easy to start off with a great idea, where you think you know what you want to achieve, but then at some point you become a little lost, confused, or reluctant to proceed, in fear of making a costly mistake.
With the endless number of possibilities out there, sometimes all you need is a professional to have a look at the project for you. A fresh (and experienced) set of eyes can help you to streamline your ideas, refine a colour scheme, make fabric and furniture suggestions or advise on the dressing or styling of a room.
What to expect:
Step 1. I will email you a brief questionnaire, to complete and return to me. This will help me to get a picture of who you are and what you are trying to achieve with your design project. You can also send me photos at this stage. Once received, we can have a phone or video call to discuss the requirements, allowing me to discover more and write a brief. This will be followed up with a phone/video call to discover more, and finalise the brief.
Step 2. From the information you have shared, I will create a digital presentation, showing the required elements of the design. This will showcase my ideas for your project and help you to visualise the final look of the room. I will share this with you via email and ask for your feedback. This can be provided by email or as a discussion on the phone.
Step 3. If necessary, I will incorporate your feedback into the design presentation, which will be revised and sent to you again, along with useful tips and styling advice, a sourcebook of my favourite online shops and an action plan.
Step 4. It is over to you! You take the design and advice, and implement it yourself at your own pace.
Costs: Start from £195 per room. Included is one presentation, with one set of revisions. Costs will be confirmed at the briefing in step 1.
“Bring in the Designer” Package
This option is for those of you who have a blank canvas, or simply have no idea where to start.
All you know, is that you want to have a beautifully designed room at the end of it.
Here, I will work collaboratively to guide you through the whole process of collating ideas and creating a design brief, so that we both know what the desired end look is.
Step 1. I will email you a brief questionnaire to complete and return to me. This will help me get a picture of who you are and what you are looking to achieve with your design project. This will be followed up with a phone/video call to discover more and finalise a brief. While COVID-19 is still affecting our day-to-day life, I will ask that you send me a rough sketch and some ballpark measurements of your room. When it is safe to do so, these initial discussions will take place during a site visit.
Step 2. Following the brief, I will create a digital presentation. This will showcase my design ideas for your project and help you to visualise the final look of the rooms with ‘mood’ images and inspiration. The design will cover decoration details, soft furnishings, furniture and product concepts, spatial plans, and lighting & electrical plans.
During lockdown regulations I will share this with you via email. When normality resumes, I can arrange to visit you in your home to present to you. Feedback can be provided by email or we can arrange to have a discussion by telephone or video call.
Step 3. If required, I will incorporate your feedback into the design presentation which will be revised and sent to you by email, along with any useful tips and styling advice, an action plan and a shopping list (dependent on budget, this could be online retailers, or items sourced from my own trade suppliers).
Hand drawn elevations and 3D drawings can be supplied at an additional cost, as can sampling which may also include a nominal fee.
Costs: Start from £350 per room. Included is one presentation, with one set of revisions. Costs will be confirmed at the briefing in step 1.
“Premium Design” Package
This option is a full-service design and deliver package. It includes all the services in my ‘Bring in the Designer’ package plus delivers the design, to make your interior dreams a reality.
After agreeing the desired design in stage 3, I will personally act as project manager and will bring the design to life, from start to finish. This includes the sourcing and purchasing of products, the managing of my team of trades on site, along with all the finer details, such as bedlinens and accessories that help to create the perfectly finished design.
Costs: As each Premium package is unique, full costs will be discussed on a project basis and agreed at the briefing stage. There would however be a £350 min payment required.
“Designer on Hand” Package
I can work with you as an ‘on-call designer’, based on an hourly consultation rate. This is where perhaps you need a one-off visit to your home for a particular design issue, such as paint colour selection, furniture layout, window treatments, art placement or help to style your room.
Costs: This is charged at £65 per hour. Any additional design work or product purchases would be agreed extras. Dependent on location, travel may incur an additional cost.
As I work with a variety of associated trades, I can either suggest someone to carry out the works for you, where you then contact and deal directly; or I can act as the project manager and organise the required trades.
Any project management would incur a fee of 20% on the trade cost for this service.
